Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow divorce is finalised after he signs on the dotted line
It’s been a long time coming, two years in fact since the couple announced that they were to “consciously uncouple” and it is not as though he has only just received the divorce papers, they were served on him after being filed by Gwyneth ten months ago! The couple are parents to two young children, Apple, fifteen, and Moses, nine, and when they decided to split in March 2014, they had been married for ten years.
According to the Sun newspaper, there was no apparent underlying reason why the Coldplay frontman held off signing the papers, he commented that he “was going to do it eventually” it just seems it kept slipping his mind perhaps! We understand that there is no bad blood between the two, their number one priority is their kids.’
With regard to custody of the children, it appears that they will receive joint legal and physical custody and are also likely to split their assets evenly, which is as well, their combined fortune is an estimated £120million. Neither couple were prepared to make a comment, but Chris did agree to an in depth an in-depth interview with the Sunday Times, in this he made reference to his “very wonderful separation-divorce” and he said that he couple still go on holiday together. During the interview Chris spoke about their relationship saying that it was always out in the media, but put a different slant on divorce when he said it was not a word he thought about, he went on to say: “I don’t see it that way. I see it more like you meet someone; you have some time together and things just move through. ‘I’ve lived a lot of life since then.”
Both he and Gwyneth still see each other even though they have both new partners, Gwyneth with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk while Chris’ girlfriend is British actress Annabelle Wallis.
