Caitlyn Jenner breaks Twitter record, gaining more than 1m followers in four hours
Well Barack Obama did not hold on to the record for having the most followers in a short period of time on Twitter, it was quickly broken by transgender person Caitlyn Jenner, previously known as Bruce Jenner. The president collected a million followers in five hours; it took only four for Caitlyn to do the same, the Guinness book of records confirmed.
The launch of Caitlyn’s twitter account coincided with a Vanity Fair magazine cover release, photographed by Annie Leibovitz in Malibu, this showed her as a transgender woman and revealed the name she will now be using.
It was during an interview in April that the Keeping up with the Kardashians star confirmed her plans to transition into a woman. In the interview she also said that she would be lying if when on her deathbed she had kept the change secret, she went on ”You just blew your entire life”. Her stepdaughter Kim Kardashian has also said on social media that she fully supports Jenner.
We understand that in July a new series is to begin on Entertainment channel E! documenting Caitlyn’s life as a transgender woman; this all comes a day after Kim confirmed she was pregnant with her second child with husband Kanye West.
